How to Extend your Hobart Mixer’s Life Cycle
Use these tips to care for your A120, A200, D300, H600, L800, M802, and V1401 Hobart Mixers!
- Mixer maintenance remains easy due to the fact that mixer machines tend to be simple pieces of equipment with minimal parts. Nonetheless, mixer operators need to follow a few simple steps to get the most out of their machine.
- Clean your Hobart mixer daily with hot, soapy water. Mixer operators can remove the bowls, agitators, and bowl guards and either put them in the warewasher or wash them by hand. Wipe the mixer's base with a damp cloth at the end of the day.
- Refrain from using high-pressure water hoses to clean your mixer. Water can contaminate and damage the
internal gears and other components.
- Lubricate gear boxes located inside planetary mixers periodically.
- Regularly check, and when necessary, replace belts on belt-driven mixers.
- With some mixers, agitator clearance can change over time. When the distance changes between the bowl
and agitator unit, it can compromise the mixing results. Check clearance between the bowl and
agitator every six months.
- Keep a maintenance log that documents your mixer’s history - your technician will appreciate it!
