Guided by the vision of John and Herman Buffington, Beverage Air began in 1946 when the brothers went into business after John invented the first horizontal bottle cooler and filed a patent for it. Since then, the company has grown to become a market leader of food service cooling equipment, including reach-ins, undercounter and worktop refrigerators, milk coolers, novelty cases and merchandisers, deli cases, and blast freezers/chillers. Beverage Air also demonstrates a deep respect for energy consciousness and efficiency, as its units command some of the highest Energy Star ratings in the industry and are taking steps to completely phase out the use of cholorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in their products.
