Cornelius
Cornelius, now a part of the IMI Cornelius Group, was founded in 1931. An inventor named Richard Cornelius was working out of his Minneapolis basement when created the first diaphragm-type compressor for dispensing beer. He went on to develop a foam-free draft beer faucet, and became the preferred supplier to America’s beer companies. After World War II, Cornelius expanded into the soft drink industry. In 1980, Cornelius merged with IMI to form the IMI Cornelius Group. Today, IMI Cornelius employs 4500 people and is the world’s leading manufacturer of cold drink dispensers.
